DRO Market Resolution

Learn how outcomes become final and how resolution reports are rewarded

The Direct Resolution Oracle (DRO) records the final outcome of a market onchain. An approved resolver for Kuest checks the published rules and resolution source, then submits the official result.

Community reports help surface the expected result, but they do not settle the market by themselves. The approved resolver always makes the final decision.

A market result branches into bonded YES and NO reports, an approved resolver confirms the outcome, and funds return to the correct reporter or move to the Security Reserve

Read the resolution rules first

Every market defines:

  • Resolution criteria: what must happen for each outcome to win.
  • Resolution source: where the result must be verified.
  • Timing and edge cases: which date, timezone, threshold, cancellation rule, or other condition applies.

Wait until the answer is verifiable

A report submitted too early or against the written rules can lose the entire 300 USDC bond. Market price, public opinion, and a similar market elsewhere do not determine the official result.

How resolution works

The result becomes verifiable

The event finishes or the condition in the market rules is met.

Users may report the outcome

When Resolution Rewards is active, eligible users can lock the displayed bond and report YES or NO.

The site submits the official result

An approved resolver verifies the rules and source. User reports are signals; they cannot force the result.

Claims become available

Winning shares redeem for $1.00 each. Resolution bonds and rewards are claimed separately from Settings → Rewards.

Resolution Rewards

The proposal modal shows the exact bond and reward before you sign. With the current defaults, the bond is 300 USDC, while the reward is normally $4.00 for a standard market or $1.60 per question in a multi-market event.

The site does not profit from a wrong report

A forfeited bond never goes to Kuest or its resolver. It goes to the separate Security Reserve used for security and future improvements to the rewards system.

Participation limits

  • Each DepositWallet can report only once per market for the market's entire lifetime.
  • Only one active YES report and one active NO report can occupy the market at a time.
  • Reporting both sides through different wallets is not risk-free: after a YES or NO result, one 300 USDC bond loses, while the correct side receives only its bond plus the small displayed reward.
  • Reports cannot change sides.

If the market remains unresolved

After 48 hours, the reporter may request the bond back. The request immediately gives up the reward, remains exposed to the official result for another 24 hours, and cannot be canceled. If a result arrives during that delay, a correct report receives only its bond back and a wrong report loses it. Otherwise, the slot reopens and only the originating DepositWallet can claim the bond.

Security Reserve

The Security Reserve is held separately and may be used for security, exceptional reimbursements, and future improvements to Resolution Rewards.
